The hallway... nearly there

Painting done, carpet fitted, pocket string back up. Just a few odds and sods left, but on the most part the hallway is done.

It was nice to finally be able to put up our Hang-It-All... along with some of our other treasures...

Sunday...

Columbia Road for Alpine Thistle and green Chrysanthemums...

A browse in Ryantown before stopping in at Cake Hole, which is a lovely teashop at the back of Vintage Heaven, where I picked up a very cute Hornsea pot and six Greek beeswax tapers.

Bistrotheque & Flash

After the delights of Press & Pull on Thurdsday, Deerylou and I met P at Bistrotheque. A favourite spot which we don't get to often. A few Sloe G&Ts in the Napoleon bar and fantastic supper upstairs with my favourite people rounded off the evening a treat.

Exciting news... the folks at Bistrotheque have planned their second, seasonal, pop-up restaurant... FLASH at The Royal Academy.

Their fisrt triumph was The Reindeer, which was open for the month of December 2006 at the Truman Brewery... P and I had a lovely long lunch on our anniversary. Who knew that 12 months later to the day would be our wedding day!!

Press & Pull

Last night, at the recommendation of Kate Banzai, I took a trip East with Deerylou to see Press & Pull, an exhibition of screenprint work by Kate Gibb and lino cuts by James Brown... and a thoroughly enjoyable trip it was too.

I was really taken with the design of their flyer, and wasn't at all disappointed with their work. It's such an enjoyable collection to study, and Kate and James's work sits very well side by side. Sadly, there isn't much time to visit (the exhibition runs until Sunday), and I don't think I can get back again. I'd love to take another longer look...

Big thanks to Kate for sharing the invitation, and to Kate and James for letting me take some photos!

read me... needs new accessories

Totally justifiable as we're edging towards a new, and my favourite, season.

Clarks grey patent lace-up Henderson Way shoes...

Labour and Wait black leather batchel...

Aēsop

On Saturday Deerylou and I visited the new, and beautifully tranquil, Aēsop store on Mount Street.

I hadn't used their products before, but have always been drawn to the attractive, functional packaging. Now I'm completely smitten with their 'A Rose By Any Other Name' body cleanser.

Sunbury Antiques Market

Today feels like a mini-weekend as I took the day off work to visit Sunbury Antiques Market. I was lucky enough to have the company of very special friends... and we all enjoyed spending time with Rob on his birthday.

We had a great time browsing the market...

Oh, and I came home with this Yngve Ekström Arka chair... what a lucky find!

1930's French Medical Cabinet

Finally found it and it's nearly ready... but here it is in the work shop waiting to be finished off. The new cabinet for our living room.

A 1930's French medical cabinet... I can't wait for it to be delivered!

Sunday...

It's difficult to resist cut hydrangeas, especially when they're as beautiful as these. Their colour is much deeper blue than in the photo.

I'm also the proud owner of this new screen printed tea-towel from Ryantown... the bird pin came free of charge!!

More things I need...

Here are some more things I really, really, really need...

The Eames House Bird... this wasn't actually designed by Charles or Ray Eames, but is a replica, produced by Vitra, of a much loved piece of American folk art which they had on display in their home for more than fifty years.

Olle Eksell: Swedish Graphic Designer... a fantastic collection of work by one of Sweden's most respected graphic designers.

Hermès SilkyPop Bag in Brown Buffle Skipper & Silk... just the thing to carry home my groceries... but only if I were to win the lottery. I guess playing the lottery would be the only way for that to be possible... hmm.

Sunday...

Two lovely bunches of white Lisianthus from Columbia Road this week... more here.

Xavier Pauchard Chaise 37

I need new garden furniture about as much as I need a new handbag. This doesn't stop me from lusting after the fabulous designs of Xavier Pauchard, and in particular the Chaise 37... which was one of his first designs for Tolix.
