The Open West 2010

P had a painting selected for The Open West 2010, so we had a lovely night and day in Cheltenham for the Private Viewing two weekends ago.

The Ghost of a Flea looked amazing amongst the other works and, in my humble opinion, stood head and shoulders above them too...

Enamel Alphabet

I absolutely love these vitreous enamel alphabet plaques by Hyperkit.

Must see if I can check out the exhibition at the House of Propellers.

Seizure

London is rainy and cold again today and I really don't want to leave the house but yesterday, P and I ventured out and took a short walk down to Harper Road SE1 to see Seizure. I was amazed.

Weekend

Friday morning I took a walk to Monmouth Coffee and then headed back home for a walk round the Bermondsey Square Antique Market. It was a lovely start to a very restful day which ended with a very enjoyable trip to the Barbican cinema.

On Saturday I made my way to Regent Street to check out Anthropologie. The newly opened store really looks wonderful but after spending time browsing all three floors I came away empty handed. Fernandez and Wells for great coffee and an OK peanut butter cookie before heading to Dover Street Market to see the ARTEK window.

Sunday we walked through Apple Day at Borough Market on our way to see Miroslaw Balka’s box of darkness at Tate Modern, then we took a touristy stroll all the way to The Wallace Collection, making one or two pit stops on the way... a swift half at The Seven Stars, a flat white at Flat White and I decided to pick up the Porter tote bag from the Monocole store.

Weekend

Busy, busy, busy time at work. My weekend feels like it was so long ago and the next one feels too far away... here are some bits of last weekend to remind me what they're all about!

Fish and chip supper at The Laughing Halibut on Strutton Ground.

Apples which smelt of sweet strawberries.

The Hayward Gallery for Walking in My Mind. Very happy to see Yoshitomo Nara's My Drawing Room.

Lunch at Melrose and Morgan.

A nice walk through Queen Mary's Garden.

Garden and Cosmos: The Royal Paintings of Jodhpur

Tonight we went to see Garden and Cosmos: The Royal Paintings of Jodhpur at the British Museum. It's an absolutely fascinating exhibition... I was completely enchanted with every single one of the 56 incredibly detailed, lush and colourful paintings, which date back to the 17th century.

None of these paintings have been shown in Europe before.  If you get the chance, you should take the time to go and see them.

I'm very sad that tomorrow is P's last day at 5 Seymour Place...

Polo Chair... it's mine

We needed a chair and table for the space where P is showing his paintings, so naturally I had the perfect excuse to order the white Robin Day Polo Chair... it looks a treat with the white Ikea Muddus table, don't you think?

Peter Roseman Paintings

Yesterday, P's exhibition opened at 5 Seymour Place. It was a great opening night, spent with friends, family and lots of new faces... all of whom were very impressed with my talented husbands incredible work.

Moo Cards

Today we received the Moo Cards which we ordered for P's exhibition, which opens next Tuesday.  They're details of three paintings (top Pollen Count; middle The Ghost of a Flea; bottom Sleeps with Magnets).

I'm really pleased with them.
