Dots in NYC

Last week we were able to deliver a belated birthday present to dear M.

So now one of P's incredible paintings is living in NYC!!

Meet the Twins

I love, love, love my new Camper shoes... they're perfect for the fast approaching chilly weather.

New addition to my book collection #9

I picked up a copy of L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz in the MoMA Design Store in Soho last week, which is brilliantly illustrated by Graham Rawle...

Although the 1939 film is in my top five favourite films of all time, I have never read Baum's book. It is now next on the list for P to read to me, once our current long read is finished.

New York

We've had a great break in one of our favourite places, with friends who live there and friends who decided to visit at the same time as us.

A few of the things I really enjoyed this year... some of which are new and others that are old favourites:

Breakfast at The Smith, Balthazar and French Roast.

Lunch at Kelley and Ping and The Grey Dog.

Dinner at Gemma, Bridge Cafe and The Red Cat.

Browsing and shopping at Greenwich Letterpress, MXYPLYZYK for a trad Sock Monkey, Kisan Concept Store for Antipast wrist warmers, Co Bigelow Apothecary and Lyell which makes the most beautiful clothing.

A trip out to the Brooklyn Flea where we picked up a couple of chocolate bars from the Mast Brothers.

Oh, and spending time with Colin... he's adorable!

Timothy Clark Cabinetmaker / Chairwright

I've been in Washington DC since last Tuesday for work and have been staying at the Park Hyatt, where they have some hand crafted furniture by Timothy Clark.

His Windsor rocking chairs and benches are absolutely beautiful!

Alphabet Bags

Alphabet Bags... brilliant.

Great idea from Hayley and Lucus, who're behind KeepCalmGallery.com and who, in their own words, "share a great passion for all things nice."

Coq en Pâte éditions

The tag says "Coq en Pâte produces and distributes pieces made by French creators that are destined for little kids, and big ones, too (that'd be me). We favour peaceful, ecological objects made in India in a manner that respects both human beings and the environment and that complies with measures for sustainable development."

I love my new pencil case (mmm, a very big kid!) and am trying to work out where I can find the little suitcase. It's another item on my really, really need it list. Just can't get enough of this super cute fabric print...

The artist designer is Tinou Le Joly Sénoville.
