Door curtain
Yesterday we fitted a curtain to the back of our front door in an attempt to reduce the draft which bellowes through the letter box and all round the edges. Not wanting to spend a fortune, we fashioned it out of one of a pair of Ikea ready made cotton Alvine Smal curtains, wonderweb, little hooks and eyelet rings.
Success... the hallway is warmer! Not such a success are these photos... any way, you get the idea.

Bedtime read
Not long ago I mentioned that our next bedtime read was going to be The Wizard of Oz, but once we'd finished The Long Goodbye we detoured to a different classic... Mary Shelley's Frankenstein.
It's a fine read!

Antipast accessories for earthman
Two weeks today P and I will be heading off on our honeymoon. We were married on 8 December last year and, due to me breaking my ankle ten days later, we decided to delay our Spring trip to Hong Kong and Japan until the end of the year... which is now almost here. YAY!!
Among the many exciting things about our trip (for me that is, possibly not so much for P) is seeking out hard to find Antipast goods... much like these, which I found on-line here at Brooklyn based Bird.

More toadstools
I've mentioned before my fondness for toadstools, so was delighted to pick up this little candle stick by Rice for just 99p at Columbia Road last Sunday.
Here are some stationery finds from our recent New York visit...
Our Royal Copenhagen Princess teapot...
And who would'nt love to have one of these handmade toadstools by Tamar Mogendorff?

Antipast accessories for earthman
A lucky $30 find in New York, these Antipast wrist warmers have been very welcome during this current cold spell...
As you can see, it's not particularly easy to take a good photo of your own arm!

New addition to my book collection #9
I picked up a copy of L. Frank Baum's The Wizard of Oz in the MoMA Design Store in Soho last week, which is brilliantly illustrated by Graham Rawle...
Although the 1939 film is in my top five favourite films of all time, I have never read Baum's book. It is now next on the list for P to read to me, once our current long read is finished.
