This was our second visit, and we chose to stay in the same hotels as when we were there in 2005, Villa Fontaine in Shiodome and the Westin Miyako in Kyoto.
This time we also spent one night at a Ryokan in Gora, Hakone. The Tokinoyu Setsugekka ryokan is also an Onsen and each room has it's own private balcony bath.
During our visit, there were some amazing things to see...

we stayed in the same hotel in kyoto! i loved all the old 60s furniture.
wow, Japan looks just amazing! I'd hope to go there one day.
Great pictures.
Can you tell me whether the private balcony baths at Ryoken in Gora (Tokinoyu Setsugekka) have a smell of sulphur? I've booked to go there in 2 weeks, and just discovered that my husband can't stand sulphur-smelling hot springs. I haven't been able to find out this information anywhere!
Also, if you know about the public baths and rock baths there - whether they are sulphuric or not, that would be amazingly helpful.
Thanks, Debi
